Working Under Saddle

I hadn't touched this girl in a while, but that most certainly doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about her! I had a great story for her first saddling, but couldn't get the inspiration to draw it (or finish it, the sketch and lines are started). But, I could work on this and finish it like that, so I've thought of a sneaky way of putting this up before the other picture!

So here's little miss Diva starting to grow up and become a contributing member of society!

Diva was simply a mystery.

Just a week ago AJ would have sworn the filly non-ridable after the explosion she threw after having a saddle on her back for the first time. AJ had never come close to witnessing a horse throw such a violent and terrifying display of rage and fear as Diva. You would have thought the filly was being attacked by hungry wolves and was fighting for her life than simply having a saddle placed on her back.

AJ had saddled many young horses before, and some did throw some bronc-y bucks and ruckuses, but nothing compared to what Diva did. She went out of her mind.

Yet, here she was now. Trotting relaxed and eager at the end of the lunge-line with that very same saddle thumping on her back. Yes, Diva was a mystery and AJ wasn't sure if she was excited to mount the filly for the first time or apprehensive. But, she could only smirk as she kissed the filly into a canter thinking back on her ingenuity to film the earlier disaster to show to any of the non-believers and to study the incident herself.
