Just a Horse

A horse, is just a horse.

It does not dream of winning gold, or competing with it's pasture mate. It is an animal, and animal that captures the imagination and awe of people around the world.

It's raw power and beauty draws us in, but it's nature is what keeps us in a trance. Horses are big and strong - much stronger than us, but for a reason unknown to ourselves, allows us to take advantage of it's strength and push it to their limits and beyond. They become our secret keepers and the light in our days.

While I am not the center of a horse's life (except maybe one or two), horses are mine. I plan to build my short time here on this earth in the presence of these great animals.

But, if it should ever stray from that basic thought, 'that I love these animals for what they are' then I want out - because it is no longer about the horse. It's about something else, like winning a title, or competing with a neighbor, and the love of the horse has to be the driving force that fuels me.

Because no matter the breed, name, color, or anything else - a horse is just a horse. Nothing more, and nothing less.
